Infectious Disease
Land and Environmental Services are advised by the Greater Glasgow Health Board of any communicable infection.
Glasgow City Council and the Greater Glasgow N.H.S. Board (Public Health Protection Unit) work together with a view to controlling food poisoning and preventing the spread of communicable disease.
An Officer from Land and Environmental Services will visit the affected household to gather information.
This procedure is carried out in order to ensure that outbreaks of gastrointestinal illness including the communicable infection responsible for food and water-borne out breaks is brought under control and, where possible, measures are taken to prevent further secondary cases arising and to prevent similar outbreaks in future.
