Purple Bins - Glass Recycling
A new Purple Wheeled Recycling Bin has been introduced for glass bottles and jars. Approximately 25,000 householders (Single Properties) in the North & South of the City will have the opportunity to participate in this new recycling service. Further information |

- Collection of Household Waste
A weekly refuse collection is provided to over 280,000 households in Glasgow.
- Recycling
Household recycling materials are collected by Glasgow City Council.
- Waste Disposal
Each year over 400,000 tonnes of Glasgow’s domestic and commercial waste has to be disposed of.
Street Cleansing
Although the Council provides litter bins at various points throughout the City it is up to each individual to be responsible for their own litter.
- Public Toilets
Land and Environmental Services, Neighbourhood Services division operates a number of Public Toilets throughout the city.
