
The banks are sited at prominent, high volume on street locations around the city where commuters and residents can place their recyclables in one bank.
This new innovative project involves five key partners – Glasgow City Council, Waste Aware Scotland campaign, the Wise Group, Valpak and Volvic.
Part of the project will also create three new jobs which will involve one trainee to help raise awareness of the project and two trainees will be based at the Council’s Materials Reclamation Facility plastic sort cabin to monitor the levels of recycled plastic bottles throughout the duration of the project.
The collected material will be taken to the Council’s Materials Reclamation Facility at Polmadie for baling prior to being sent for recycling.
These new recycling banks are sited at the following addresses:

- Elmbank Crescent – At India Street
- Cathedral Street – Opposite College
- King Street Car Park
- Argyle Street – Opposite Brown St
- Buchanan Bus Station (2 locations) –Killermont Street
- Cambridge Street – At Buccleuch Street
- Cowcaddens Rd - Facing Cale Uni
- Glasgow Green - next to the needle
- Glasgow Green - At Play Area/Templeton St
- Spoutmouth Car Park - Gallowgate
- Renfrew St - outside RSAMD
