Refuse at a transfer station

Waste Disposal

Each year over 400,000 tonnes of Glasgow’s domestic and commercial waste has to be disposed of. Once collected this waste passes through one of the city’s waste transfer stations on route to landfill. The Waste Disposal division of Cleansing manages these functions.

In addition to managing the waste transfer and landfill operations, the Waste Disposal division also has responsibility for recycling and civic amenity sites.

If you require further information on this or any other aspect of waste disposal in Glasgow please contact the Council Access Centre either by phone or email.
