A glance along the banks of the River Clyde reveals the physical record of a city in rapid change.

The Clyde's regeneration is seeing the revitalisation of an area of land equivalent to the size of 600 football pitches.

This is the ambition which has seen the river's dramatic renaissance remain on target to create 30,000 jobs. It is not only new employment opportunities that are being created on Glasgow's greatest asset. Working with our public and private sector partners we are ensuring that this period of growth and regeneration will continue into the future, to benefit all the people of Glasgow.

Since 2000, some 2,100 new homes have been built and approximately 3,000 more units are proposed - creating new neighbourhoods on the Clyde and sustaining and reinvigorating older riverside communities.

It is estimated that in the next 10 years, there will be a further £5 billion of both private and public sector investment in Glasgow's Clyde Corridor

The Clyde is now one of the largest and most visionary renewal projects being undertaken in Europe. I believe that this is only the beginning of this tartan tiger's awakening.
