Target: To develop bus rapid transit (BRT), which is future proofed for a tram system, to provide a modern, quick reliable transport system to service the Clyde Corridor.
Status: Completed:
Clyde Corridor Transport Study completed, 2004;
Pre-LRT Strategy completed, 2004; and
Planning permission granted for Clyde Fastlink, City Centre to Glasgow harbour, 2006.
Activity: Clyde Fastlink will be a “state of the art” public transport system running a six-minute interval service from the city centre along the northbank of the River Clyde.

The system will provide a dedicate bus route, offering a tram-like experience. The vehicles will be separated from other traffic over the majority of the 6km route.

There will be 11 stops along the route including the International Financial Services District on the Broomielaw, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, the new Transport Museum before terminating in the west end at Glasgow Harbour.
