Status:

Museum building is currently being constructed at Pointhouse, opposite Govan. Conservation work entering final stages. Decant of current museum in planning.

Activity:

A key component of Glasgow’s waterfront regeneration is the new Museum of Transport. It will be an improved replacement for the present Museum of Transport in the Kelvinhall.

 

The Riverside Museum is being built on a site where the Clyde and Kelvin rivers meet, and is next to Glasgow Harbour. It will display the land and maritime transport heritage of the city. The historic Glenlee tall ship will be moored alongside. The museum is due to open in 2011.
