Target: To implement the development proposals recommended in the approved Central Govan Action Plan
Status: Central Govan Action Plan approved by Development and Regeneration Services Committee in December 2005.
Activity: The key aim of the Action Plan is to attract more people to live in Central Govan.

The objectives of the plan to achieve this are:
  • Provision of new mixed tenure residential development on key sites to improve housing quality and choice.
  • Improvement of existing townscape and public realm to create a distinctive town centre.
  • Attraction of private investment that creates employment space.
  • Linking these interventions to on going training and employment initiatives.
  • Reuse of vacant/derelict land and listed/underused buildings
  • Strengthening of links within Govan, to the waterfront and to other areas
  • Development of heritage and tourism potential
