Situated in Pacific Quay, BBC Scotland’s new headquarter is next to the Glasgow Science Centre. The building will be the BBC’s and Scotland’s first purpose built integrated broadcasting facility. David Chipperfield Architects have designed the building to not only meet the needs of BBC broadcaster but the public as well. The building will house a café, exhibition space and theatre. Visitors will also be able to observe production and broadcasting in action. The quay edge will be retained and the public promenade extended along the riverfront.

The SMG (Scottish Media Group) headquarters fronts the river and a public open space linking the South Rotunda and the recently completed Finnieston Road Bridge. Scottish TV will broadcast from the building 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The Clyde Walkway will link the public square to the east of the Rotunda to the western end of the Pacific Quay and the Bells Bridge.
