The Access Centre takes calls relating to pre-arranged taxi and private hire journeys for passengers who do not or cannot use the bus service.

These journeys are mainly arranged on behalf of -

• Education Services, ASL -  transporting children to and from school.

• Education Services, Vocational Training – transporting children from school to work placements throughout the city

• Social Work - transporting adults to training centres and day care centres.

The Access Centre works closely with the transport providers on Glasgow City Council’s Taxi and Private Hire Contract in order to provide this service.

Regular liaison with client departments also takes place, and also with the Parallel Transport Liaison Group.

Calls relating to Transport Coordination are answered on a 24/7/365 basis.
