Connect2 Day

On Thursday the 27th September 2007, Connect2 schemes across the country made themselves known to local people. The day was a huge success in Glasgow with sunshine and warm temperatures accompanying a number of Glasgow citizens, who all stand to benefit from the completion of this project, across the bridge for a photo shoot.

Those attending the event included:

  • Councillors Nina Baker, Philip Braat & Craig Mackay
  • Neil Amner – Chair of the Local Steering Group (Chamber of Commerce)
  • Julie McKenzie, Tommy Steele, Margaret Stubbs, Caroline Paul, Jennifer Simon & Lynn Marshall – Residents of 716 Argyle Street (Margaret Blackwood Housing Association)
  • Members of the Local Steering Group

You may have already seen pictures from the day as photographers representing the Herald, the Evening Times and the Scottish Sun were present on the day, as was a film crew from STV news and Glasgow City Council’s own photographers.

If you wish to see photographs from any of the other 78 projects that stand to gain alongside Glasgow should we win the televised phone vote, please visit the Sustrans Connect2 website.

Look out for more events in the lead up to the televised phone vote in December 2007.
