During the last few years, Land and Environmental Services has systematically carried out upgrading works along the River Kelvin corridor, aimed at improving access for pedestrians, cyclists and people with restricted mobility. The Forth & Clyde Canal towpath has also been upgraded by British Waterways, but unfortunately, the link between these two magnificent facilities is very steep, narrow and in poor surface condition.
Land and Environmental Services with support from Sustrans, are providing a well graded, 3m wide path which will link the canal towpath to the walkway/cycleway.
