Glasgow Cycle Activity Centre
Many cycling activities and events take place in both Bellahouston Park and Pollok Country Park, suiting a wide range of abilities from the complete novice, through to experienced club cyclists. The refurbished bowling green pavilion in Bellahouston Park, next to the leisure centre car park, provides a base for formal activities such as training sessions. Facilities include a small lecture area, changing accommodation and a kitchen.

- Cycle training
Training can make a huge difference to your enjoyment of cycling. Adults can join in cycle training sessions which use the paths and cycle routes in and around the park. Phone 0141 287 5079 for details of future courses.
- Cycle Routes
Local cycle routes in Bellahouston Park can be accessed at Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Drive, or Mosspark Boulevard. Routes in Pollok Country Park include National Cycle Route 7 & 75 and the White Cart Way.
- Track
The former running track in Bellahouston Park was refurbished in 2006 and converted into a community cycle track. The oval track is 420m long and can be used for cycling activities such as cycle skills training, cycle sports coaching and minor events. The track is available for informal use, except when an event is in progress. All events require to be booked, see below.
- Event circuit
The cycle event circuit is located around the pitch and putt area in Bellahouston Park and comprise a series of wide, predominantly flat, paths which total approx 1.3kms. Many of the paths are also ideal for use by specialist disability cycles, as is the track above. All events require to be booked, see below.
- Mountain bike circuits
Opened in September 2004 by Chris Hoy MBE, these trails comprise 3 graded routes for mountain bikers, regardless of their skill or experience. Families can ride round the shorter flatter route (500 metres), whilst fitter, more skilful riders enjoy some of the more technical sections on the intermediate (1km) or difficult circuits (1.5kms). Although located in the bustling urban hub of Glasgow’s South Side, the circuits have been specifically designed to reflect the typical pastoral environment associated with mountain biking and have a distinctly rural feel.
- Bookings
Groups currently using the centre include the Glasgow Riderz youth cycling club, Scottish Cycling’s West of Scotland Cycling Academy and the West of Scotland Special Olympics Cycle Team. Should you wish to hold an event on the track, event circuit, or the mountain bike circuits please contact:
