BIAS - Bus Information and Signalling
This new Traffic Control System will replace the existing CITRAC Urban Traffic Control System on the Streamline Corridors throughout the City and the neighbouring local authority of West Dunbartonshire.
The system will identify and locate buses travelling along the Streamline Corridors to within 5 metres using the satellite Global Positioning System.
- Computers on the buses will compare their actual position against the timetable and if late request traffic signal pre-emption to allow buses to continue their journey more quickly.
- Signs are being installed at Bus Shelters along the Streamline Corridors to provide the travelling public with the actual arrival time of buses along the corridors.
