Road/LocationLimits
Bath Street/Cathedral Street (Ward 10) Dates: Ongoing until further notice.

Diversions: Not applicable.

Description: Due to restrictions on the Cathedral Street bridge, Bath Street is currently two-way between West Nile Street and Dundas Street.

Bothwell Street Off-Ramp (Ward 10) Dates: From Saturday 14th June 2008 (2200hrs) for approximately 20 weeks.

Diversions: A clearly signed diversion route will be in place via North Street/St Vincent Street for city centre traffic.

Description: Refurbishment works on Bothwell Street off-ramp. The ramp will remain closed for the duration of the scheme. The speed limit will reduce to 40mph on approaches to the Kingston Bridge.

Cathedral Street (Ward 10) Dates: Ongoing until further notice.

Diversions: Not applicable.

Description: A 17 tonne weight limit on the bridge over Queen Street station between North Hanover Street and Dundas Street. Traffic is restricted to buses, taxis & cyclists over bridge (access to Buchanan Galleries Car Park unaffected).

Cowcaddens Road (Ward 10) Dates: From Monday 18th August 2008 and is expected to last up to a week.

Diversions: Eastbound traffic will be diverted via Cambridge Street, Renfrew Street and Hope Street.

Description: Due to a Scottish Power cable fault at the junction of Cowcaddens Road and Hope Street, it will be necessary to close Cowcaddens Road to eastbound traffic between Cambridge Street and Hope Street. As the fault is located at the pedestrian crossing point, pedestrians will also be diverted. Congestion is expected and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Finnieston Street (Ward 10) Dates: From Monday 25th August 2008 for 6 weeks (approx).

Diversions: Not applicable.

Description: As part of the preliminary works associated with the new development at the SECC, Scottish Gas Networks require to lay a new gas main on Finnieston Street (southbound) between Clydeside Expressway and Stobcross Road. This will result in the road being reduced to one lane southbound. All restrictions will be removed on Sunday 7th September 2008 for the Great Scottish Run. Delays are to be expected and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Finnieston Street (Ward 10) Dates: From Sunday 29th June 2008.

Diversions: Drivers using the Clyde Arc Bridge in a northerly direction and wishing to travel west on the Clydeside Expressway (towards Partick, Dumbarton, etc.) should turn first or second left after leaving the bridge and follow the direction or diversion signs.

Description: The existing slip-road from Finnieston Street to the westbound Clydeside Expressway will be closed at its existing location and access will remain from Finnieston Street but from Congress Road or Stobcross Road (the roads between the river and the existing slip-road).

Gray Street (Ward 10) Dates: Monday 4th August 2008 - December 2008.

Diversions: Close Gray Street from Parkgrove Terrace to Sauchiehall Street (Alternative route to Bentinck Street/Parkgrove Terrace via Derby Street).
Revoke the one way order on Parkgrove Terrace between Gray Street and Derby Street.
Suspend parking, and introduce waiting and loading restrictions on the north side of Parkgrove Terrace from Gray Street to Derby Street.

Description: arriageway and footway works on Gray Street between Parkgrove Terrace and Sauchiehall Street involving the reconstruction of the existing carriageway with additional drainage, new and improved lighting as well as new kerbing and footway resurfacing.

Saltmarket (Ward 10) Dates: Closed until the danger has been removed.

Diversions: Southbound traffic will be diverted via St Andrews Street, Turnbull Street and Greendyke Street.

Description: Due to a dangerous chimney on Saltmarket between St Andrews Street and Steel Street, Saltmarket has been closed to southbound traffic. Congestion is expected and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

South Side of Waterloo Street (Ward 10) Dates: From Sunday 4th November 2007 and remain in force for a period of 2 years.

Diversions: Not applicable. Some congestion is to be expected over this period and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Description: Due to the demolition and reconstruction of a building at the corner of Hope Street and Waterloo Street, Waterloo Street will be reduced in width to one running lane. This is to allow the works to take place in a safe manner. Because the footway will also be occupied, a temporary signal controlled crossing will be introduced near to Waterloo Lane and this will remain in place for the duration of the works.

St George's Road/Woodlands Road junction (Ward 10) Dates: The ban will come into operation on Wednesday 4th June 2008 and be in place for the duration of the Bothwell Street off-ramp works (until Sunday 2nd November 2008 approximately).

Diversions: Diversions will be signposted.

Description: In order to facilitate works on the Bothwell Street off-ramp, it will be necessary to ban the right hand turn from St Georges Road into Woodlands Road. For the above reason, delays are expected.
