Salt Bin Locations
Almost 500 salt bins are located at known trouble spots for self-help by the public. These bins are topped up regularly by Land and Environmental Services.

Fact
Though the word grit is often used to describe the substance used to treat the roads we do not use grit. It is rock salt and the brownish colour often mistaken for grit is actually caused by traces of clay left in the salt.
