Traffic Scotland

Based at the National Network Control Centre in Glasgow, the Scottish Executive's Traffic Scotland system provides strategic traffic control over the whole of Scotland using large variable message signs, gantry signals, cameras and emergency telephones placed at strategic points on the Trunk Road Network.

Glasgow City Council operates the system on behalf of the Scottish Executive. Each Police Force and both operating companies within Scotland have a Traffic Scotland operating or monitoring terminal within their offices.
