THE PRE SCHOOL HOME VISITING SERVICE
for children with significant Additional Support Needs

The Pre School Home Visiting Service aims to raise the attainment and achievement of pre school children with significant Additional Support Needs, including complex medical needs, physical impairment, communication difficulties, autism and some moderate learning difficulties. All referrals come through the Pre School Assessment Team

Home visiting teachers work in collaboration with parents, carers, educational psychologists, therapists, pre-5 staff and other agencies to provide support and effective early intervention in all areas of the curriculum.

The Home Visiting Teacher makes regular home visits to support parents/carers and provide assessment, teaching plans and advice on the child’s development.

In mainstream nursery, the home visiting teacher provides support for staff, progress reports and input into the Additional Support Plans.
