Parents and carers are the greatest influence on their children.  They are recognised as being central to the life of their child, the work of the educational establishment and Education Services

Within Education Services, we recognise that it is vital for our Parental Involvement Strategy to be sufficiently flexible to take full account of the social and cultural diversity of Glasgow’s parents.

This strategy aims to demonstrate our commitment to enabling all parents to:

  • Be fully informed about their child’s education and learning, in line with the legislative requirements
  • Be welcomed and involved as active participants in the life of the school
  • Be encouraged to express their views on education at every level and have these taken into account
