The buildings were refurbished and included re-cladding, the provision of a rationalized suite of 8 ICT rooms and upgrading and rationalization of a further 15 teaching spaces including Home Economics
Barely recognisable since its refurbishment due to re-cladding of the outside of the school, King’s Park Secondary is now designed to accommodate 1175 pupils
Improved social and leisure spaces complement the refurbished teaching facilities
The school now has:

• 8 dedicated ICT teaching areas
• 10 science labs
• 5 technical rooms
• 4 art and design rooms
• 4 home economics rooms
• 2 music rooms
• 3 gymnasia
• a fitness room
A large library and IT Learning Centre form the heart of the school and ensure that pupils and teachers can take full advantage of Internet technology
There are 4 indoor physical education areas. Also provided were 2 new synthetic sports pitches and 2 blaes pitches were refurbished
