CPD coordinators
CPD coordinators have an overview of the professional development objectives of staff across a school. This allows for better coordination of the range of CPD activities
A critical feature of the software is that it complements the process of professional review. The user inputs the CPD objectives that arise from the review meeting. They then proceed to add activities that are undertaken to realise each objective
Activities for professional development
The list of types of activity includes:
- focused professional reading
- personal action research
- working party membership
- participation in school committees
- class observation/visits to other classrooms
- job shadowing and “on the job” learning
- mentoring
- in-service courses
- exchange visits
- work placements
The system includes a facility to record short-term and long-term evaluation of activities
The system is managed by the Education Improvement Service (EdIS) who oversee the allocation of administrator rights to each school’s CPD Coordinator
The CPD Portfolio links to the authority’s extensive catalogue of CPD opportunities
