Fire Safety Centre - Pollok Fire Station

 

The Fire Safety Centre is a purpose built experiential learning centre tackling the dangers associated with fire.

The facility consists of:

 

  • fire simulation darkroom
  • hazard bedsit
  • IT suite

The fire safety programme delivered at this facility is aimed at Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 pupils and covers the common causes of fire and a workshop on Fire Action Plans (what to do if a fire starts in your home).

 

Schools and organisations can then select one of the following modules to complete the programme:

 

  • Hoax Calls/Deliberately Starting Fires/Abuse of Fire Detection Systems
  • The Danger Associated with Fireworks
  • Vandalism to Fire Crews/Fire Appliances/Fire Hydrants

The programme is delivered by Firefighters and Safety Education Assistants.  The Centre is open Monday to Friday with 2 sessions per day.
