Rest Centres

 

 

 

Following a major incident, the City Council will arrange for the opening of a Rest Centre or other building which can provide shelter and facilities for dealing with the needs of displaced persons. Usually this is in a Secondary School, Sports Hall or other Glasgow City Council owned building, but arrangements have been made in some areas of the city to use suitable property which is not owned by the Council.

No one building is earmarked for a particular area, and the choice of Rest Centre will be taken following an incident, when the number to be accommodated, the projected time that the building will be required, and its normal day to day use will be taken into account.
