Assisting Learner Drivers

 

In an effort to improve the driving skills of young drivers, Glasgow City Council’s Road Safety Unit is now offering members of the public an opportunity to participate in their latest initiative called ‘Learn2Teach’


This initiative, the first of its kind in Scotland, assists both the accompanying driver and their learner and helps maintain consistent teaching practices between the accompanying driver and the driving instructor.

Who is the course aimed at?

  • Learners
    • Are you in the process of taking professional driving lessons?
    • Are you receiving extra practice from a friend or family member?
    • Are you looking for continuity in receiving instruction from both?
  • Instructors

    • Helping to teach a ‘L’ Driver who is currently receiving lessons from an instructor?

    • Apprehensive about your own ability to teach?

    • Is Road Safety paramount to both you and your Learner?
    • Interested in brushing up your own knowledge?

 

Cost

  • The course costs £37
         Driver and instructor with car

 

What will the Learner driver receive?

  • A professional presentation on driver theory and driver awareness.
  • A structured approach to passing your driving test.
  • Continuity between yourself, driving instructor and accompanying driver.


What will the instructor receive?

  • A professional presentation on driver theory.
  • A structured approach to assisting the L driver.
  • A drive assessment by a fully qualified DSA (Driving Standard Agency) Instructor.
  • An updated awareness of the many difficulties faced by the Learner.
