Commonwealth Graduate Fund

The Commonwealth Graduate Fund is a new initiative launched by the Leader of the Council, Gordon Matheson, in November 2011.

As you may know, in 2014, Glasgow will host the biggest sporting event ever held in Scotland. The games have presented us with the opportunity not only to showcase Glasgow to the world but to ensure that, after the games are over, a legacy remains which benefits all Glaswegians.

The Commonwealth Graduate Fund was designed to encourage employers to create new graduate level jobs in and around Glasgow. It targets the recruitment of unemployed graduates by offering financial incentives to employers to take on new employees. The Fund is worth £10million, providing funding opportunities for 1000 graduate jobs in the city.
