The bombing of Clydeside
Clydeside was an important target for German bombing raids because of its heavy industry, which was contributing significantly to the British war effort. However, it was at the far end of the range of the German bombers and was, therefore, reprieved when Germany switched resources to attack the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941.
