Clydebank suffered the most concentrated damage from bombing of any part of the British Isles during the Second World War.
It is a relatively small town and the heavy bombing lasted only two nights. The casualties and damage were not as extensive as they had been in Glasgow on the same nights, but those two nights were dramatic and horrific.
