Mankind must put a stop to the dreadful destruction caused by the Iron Man.  However, when a monster from outer space threatens earth, it's the Iron Man who saves the world.

Although this book is an 'oldie', written in 1968, it has been described as 'one of the greatest modern fairy stories'.

As well as writing a lot of poetry books, Ted Hughes wrote a follow-up to this book called 'The Iron Woman'.
