The Voucher Scheme is a collaboration between The General Register Office, Scotland Online (who maintain ScotlandsPeople web site), the Scottish Library and Information Council(SLIC)and Local Studies Scotland(LocScot).

 

ScotlandsPeople vouchers are available in all Scottish public libraries at reduced prices. They normally cost £6 for 30 page credits, but Glasgow Libraries are offering access to starter accounts at 50% discount, and top-ups at 20% discount.

Scotland’s People web site is, without question, one of the greatest single resources available  for the study of the history of a nation. For no other country can the key and authentic records be found online.

The datasets contain 50 million records. It offers access to, including images, of the records of births, marriages and deaths, 7 national census, and wills and testaments from 1513 – 1901.
