The Glasgow Story relates the history of the city of Glasgow in words and pictures.  The site is divided into 6 historical periods and then further divided into 'themes' such as Everyday Life and Buildings and Cityscapes. The site also has thousands of searchable images relating to the city's places and people, many of which come from collections held in The Mitchell Library and Glasgow City Archives.

The Old Glasgow Club was formed in 1900 and brings together people who are interested in the history of the city and its people.

Glasgow Digital Library brings together a wealth of photographic and other resources, mostly on historical topics related to Glasgow and Scotland. Many of the resources for topics on John Maxton, Red Clydeside, The Virtual Mitchell, Glasgow e-books and Springburn Virtual Museum came from collections and archives held in The Mitchell Library.
