Periodicals in the Mitchell Library
The Mitchell holds an estimated 15,000 periodical titles, including superseded and ceased journals,
The most recent issues can be found on either Level 4.
Back issues and older material can be requested from library staff.
Catalogues
You can see which periodicals are available by checking up to date printed lists which are kept in all sections.
All 15,000 periodical titles are recorded in the printed catalogue of periodicals - there is a copy of this in each section.
Online indexes
Cambridge Scientific Abstracts provides library users with online access to two useful indexes:
(1)British Humanities Index (1962-)
This indexing and abstracting service covers 320 humanities periodicals and newspapers published in the United Kingdom and the United States.
(2) ANTE (1981-)
Abstracts in New Technology and Engineering, formerly Current Technology Index, indexes 350 periodicals in science subjects.
CD-Rom indexes
