From family history to art history, computing science to domestic science, travel guides to travelogues. This service complements the existing lending stock available in the Scottish Literature and Music collections.
Books available for loan from The Mitchell can be found on our on-line library catalogue. Access the catalogue from home using this link or from your local library.
What about reference books?
The Mitchell continues to offer traditional high-quality reference services. Whatever your query or question we will help you find the answer. Reference material will be available throughout the building sitting alongside the lending books. You can also access reference materials online.
How do I borrow from The Mitchell?
Come to the library and select the book you want from our lending collection or identify the book you want from the catalogue and request it from your local library. The book will then be delivered to the library most convenient for you.
Did you know that The Mitchell also has a separate lending library?
Leisure and Lifestyle is a community library with a range of lending materials based within the Mitchell.
