Bookstart

Give your new baby an introduction to the exciting world of books with help from Glasgow Libraries

Bookstart

Bookstart is built on a simple premise - babies who have an early introduction to books benefit in lots of different ways:

  • better communication and language skills
  • increased vocabulary
  • improved language acquisition

An early start with books helps to develop the motivation, concentration and attention that are necessary for learning.

Research has shown that children introduced to Bookstart have a head start when beginning pre-school and school over their peers who haven't been introduced to Bookstart.

You can help give your child a head start in life by making him or her a Bookstart Baby.
