Shhhh…...let’s make some noise

Saturday 12 September - A wide-ranging programme of music events hosted in city libraries

Glasgow was named UNESCO City of Music by the UN cultural body in August 2008. We are the second Scottish city to join the Creative Cities Network along with Edinburgh City of Literature.

The title acknowledges Glasgow’s musical riches, the vibrancy of its music world and its role as a world player in music.  It also opens up many opportunities for the City to enhance its music world further through partnerships, initiatives and international cooperation with other Creative Cities.

A programme of music events is taking place in community libraries across the city under the sub-brand ‘Shhhh…...let’s make some noise’.  All types of musicians are being invited to play from hip-hop to aria.  The aim of ‘Shhhh…...let’s make some noise’ is to make as much noise as possible to create awareness of Glasgow City of Music across the city.
