Photographic Service
The Photographic/Digitisation Unit, based in The Mitchell, provides a public copy service. Our staff can supply copies in various formats from the majority of our library and archive material.
In keeping with our preservation aims and established best practice, we make every effort to ensure that copies are produced in the safest archival manner possible.
The Library reserves the right to refuse to copy any material which in our opinion might suffer damage or from which a satisfactory copy cannot be made.
14-Day Service
For most copy work, our normal photographic service is 14 days from placing your order.
Express Service
If you need something in a hurry, we can usually offer a next working day express service for an additional cost. This express service is at the discretion of photographic staff and is dependant on current priorities.
Reproducing Library Material
Glasgow Libraries provides copies on the understanding that material can only be reproduced with our written permission. Anyone wishing to obtain such permission should complete our Reproduction Fee Form which can be obtained from the address below.
Reproduction Fees will be applied.
If the material is within copyright, then written permission should be obtained from the copyright holder for copying and reproduction.

Self-Service Copying Facilities
Self-service coin-operated photocopiers are available in all 33 of our venues throughout the city. The Mitchell also has a self-service colour laser copier and microfilm/fiche reader printers.
Our photographic team is happy to receive your comments and suggestions. You can ask to speak to us during office hours at any of the service points in the Mitchell, or complete one of the customer comments cards available in any library.
