Orienteering

Orienteering is a sport centred on map reading in a natural terrain. The object is to locate a series of control points marked by posts using a map and compass to navigate through the park.
It is for all ages and degrees of fitness and skill, you can run, jog or walk, you decide your pace. It’s an easy way of staying fit or getting into shape.
It can provide the suspense and excitement of a treasure hunt, a great activity to take up with family and friends.
Benefits of orienteering can help to:
- Reduce the risk of heart disease
- Reduce the risk of stroke
- Improve self esteem and confidence
