Deatils of orienteering in Linn Park, Queen's Park and Ruchill Park

Should you wish to try orienteering, as a group, or a family or just by yourself then pick up your map pack from one of the main sports centres throughout the city at a cost of £1.00. 



Linn ParkLinn Park – Simmshill G44.(Grid Ref. NS 585 595)

Starting and finishing at the car park for Linn Park golf course the trail follows a westerly direction through 14 controls marked by white stone posts that carry a number which corresponds to the number given on the map pack. The course follows the former nature trail and should take around 60 minutes to complete however it may be unsuitable for people with limited ability


Queens ParkQueen’s Park – Govanhill G44.(Grid Ref. NS 580 620)

The course starts and finishes at the flagpole and heads north to the first of 18 control points which are marked by wooden posts. Each post carries a number that corresponds to a number given on the map pack. This course provides a variety of orienteering challenges due to its mixed terrain; therefore it may be unsuitable for people with limited ability. It should take approximately an hour to complete. 


Ruchill ParkRuchill Park – Ruchill G20.(Grid Ref. NS 579 681)

This course starts and finishes at the park entrance gate on Murano Street and heads in a northerly direction through 10 controls marked by wooden posts. Each post carries a number which corresponds to the number given on the map pack. A 30 minute stroll should be ample time to complete the course. This course may be unsuitable for people with limited mobility due to the hilly terrain.
