Deatils of orienteering in Dawsholm Park, Hogganfield Loch Park and Kelvingrove Park

Should you wish to try orienteering, as a group, or a family or just by yourself then pick up your map pack from one of the main sports centres throughout the city at a cost of £1.00.

Following the route of the former nature trail the orienteering course starts and finishes at the entrance gate to the park on Islay Road then heads off in a Easterly direction through 14 control points marked by white stone posts that carry a number which corresponds with the number given on the map pack. This is a tricky course which should take around 40 minutes to walk around the course and may prove unsuitable for people with limited mobility. 


Hogganfield Loch ParkHogganfield Loch Park – Riddrie G33. (Grid Ref. NS 640 670)

The course starts and finishes to the left of the public car park on Cumbernauld Road and heads off in a north easterly direction to the first of 10 marker posts. Each post carries a number which corresponds to the numbers given on the map packs. Allow about 30 minutes to walk around the course.


Kelvingrove ParkKelvingrove Park – Kelvingrove G12. (Grid Ref. NS 570 665)

The course starts and finishes in front of the Art Gallery heading off north east through 14 control points. Each control point ties in with one of the monuments or statues throughout the park giving the route a historic feeling. The statues and monuments correspond with the numbers given on the map pack.
