Event: The Big Walk

Join the Countryside Rangers for an all day hike along the banks of the River Kelvin and the Allander Water.  Despite suffering from industrial pollution in the past, these rivers are now havens for wildlife. Come along and see for yourself!

Booking is essential as transport will be provided for the return journey to Glasgow. Bring a packed lunch and appropriate footwear and waterproofs. Contact the Countryside Rangers on 0141 276 0931 for further details and to reserve a place.

Event: City of Glasgow International Highland Cattle Show
Time:     10.00am-4.00pm
Location: Pollok Country Park

Billed as the largest show of Highland Cattle in the UK this event is well worth a visit. In addition to the Highland Cattle Show there will be arena events, children’s entertainment, children’s rides, food market, countryside activities and much more.   

Come along to get a fascinating glimpse of rural life and to see how the breeders prepare their animals for the show ring and exhibit them.  Judging starts at 11.00am.  This is a great family day out with something for everyone.
