CARG focuses on the conservation and local recording of amphibians and reptiles and aims to raise the public profile of these species.

The group focuses on the conservation and local recording of amphibians and reptiles and aims to raise the public profile of these species.

The activities of CARG are expanding, as the group becomes better known. CARG has been consulted over a number of proposed developments which may affect amphibian populations.

In 2003 a newt population survey was carried out in Glasgow and a reptile survey was carried out in 2004/2005. Unfortunately no reptiles were found.

Any records of reptiles or great-crested newts within the City should be sent to:  Carol MacLean (Biodiversity Officer) 0141 287 5665
