Rose Trial Garden Talks in 2008/09

 

This series of talks and demonstrations will provide useful tips and guidance on growing and enjoying roses. 

Of the many features to be enjoyed in Tollcross Park, the most colourful is without doubt The City of Glasgow International Rose Trial. Come along to Tollcross Park Visitor Centre and learn about Roses and what makes them so popular.

    An introduction to Roses, the Rose Trial Garden and some practical advice on that thorny subject – Rose pruning!

    What’s involved in growing roses to produce a good colourful display all summer long?

    The Roses are in full bloom – but why so many different types and varieties in the garden?

    With the Rose Garden a blaze of colour, some roses are better than others. Can you pick out the best in the garden?

  • Autumn in the Rose Garden
    Wednesday 2nd October 1.30 - 3.30pm
    Roses are still attractive at this time of year and there are some simple tasks in the Rose Garden to ensure healthy and vigorous plants for next year.

    Wednesday 11th February 2009 1.30 - 3.30pm
    The essential work required to ensure success with new roses and produce a good, quality display.
