Introduction
Glasgow has a rich and fascinating history, from the Medieval City through to the present day. The City has a huge legacy of Victorian parks, cemeteries and landscaped gardens which feature several Winter Gardens, historic designated landscapes and an outstanding collection of monuments. Glasgow also features several magnificent cemeteries such as the Glasgow Necropolis, Sighthill Cemetery and the Southern Necropolis which are some of the finest examples of garden cemeteries in Europe.

Heritage Trails
Glasgow City Council has also created a series of Heritage Trails which reveal many of the priceless treasures in our parks and cemeteries.
These Trails are a great way of exploring the city, and finding out a little more about some of the sites and monuments along the way. These walks are also a great form of exercise.
