Location

Glasgow Green has a fascinating history stretching back over 800 years, and we can give groups or individuals an informative and enjoyable tour within the park.

• Why is there a monument to Lord Nelson here
• Why is there a stone commemorating James Watt here
• Who was David Dale
• Which building is modeled on the Doges palace in Venice
• Where did Bonnie Prince Charlie review his troops
• Who was the last man hanged in the Green

We can help answer these questions and many more!

Our tours can also include a short walk down to the riverside where you are sure to meet our local Geese, Ducks and Swans (bring some bread).

Groups
For Groups and School parties we may be able to arrange a tour using our resident Clydesdale horses “Ben, Don and Jack”. To avoid any disappointment please phone the Park Rangers to ensure availability, as the horses are used at various events throughout the country.

Please allow just over one hour for any walking tours within the Green, with tours using the Clydesdale horses taking Approximately 40 minutes.
