The Glasgow Show 2009

The Glasgow Show 2009

On the 1st & 2nd of August over 65,000 Glaswegians and visitors to the city enjoyed a weekend of family fun at the Glasgow Show in Glasgow Green.

Dubbed the "people's festival", this year's show featured 15 action-packed zones of family fun, top acts and attractions from across the globe.

Daredevil stunts from the Jean Monti, the Rockin Horse riders and Big Pete and the Grim Reaper Monster Trucks kept the crowds on their toes.

Music from the MacDonald Bros, Big Vern and the Shootas and the Singing Kettle filled the air.

Lord Provost Bob Winter, who led the parade from George Square to the green on Saturday, was delighted with the success of this year's show. He said: "It's a massive show and a lot of hard work goes into making it one of the city's most enjoyable and entertaining events of the year.
"It just gets better and better."
