For the second year running, the Drumchapel and West Winterfest took place on the 5th November 2007 at Drumchapel Park. An amazing 15,000 people left the sparklers at home, and headed out to witness the spectacular Super Rockers fireworks display and be entertained by a fantastic line-up of top name acts.
Entertainment
Journey South had everyone singing along to X factor favourites as well as songs from their new album. Other acts included Totally 80’s – Vienna, local bands Whiskey River and Après Ski, and tribute act Fake That.
As well as a great music, crowds were also entertained by funfair rides, Smooth Radio DJ, and MC for the evening, Dougie Jackson, Drumchapel Gymnastic Club, Champion Dance & Allstars and Titan the Robot.
The evening culminated with an appearance by Eurovision song contest winners Bucks Fizz. The group arrived on stage to rapturous applause and began their hour-long set packed with well-loved classics such as “Land of make believe”, “The camera never lies” and “Making your mind up”.

A Great Success
The night was deemed a huge success by all who attended and with this years attendance having more than doubled, next year should be bigger and better than ever!
Finally, the organisers are pleased to announce that the event has raised several thousand pounds for charity.
We would like to thank our sponsors The Drumchapel Environmental Trust and the Drumchapel & West Area Committee without whom this event wopuld not have been possible.
