Terms and conditions of Glasgow Club membership


The terms below refer to Fitness Unlimited and Pay As You Go Membership. Click here for the terms and conditions of online bookings.


Fitness Unlimited membership paid by direct debit

 1.       A minimum of four or twelve monthly payments must be made determined by the membership option you selected (indicated on the contract you signed on joining). After this initial term, membership payments must continue to be made monthly until cancellation or suspension is requested. In the instance of non-payment of membership fees your account may be referred to a collections agency unless the cancellation procedure has been followed (see item 2 below).

2.       Cancellation of your membership must be requested by phoning Glasgow Club Member Services on 08000 270 470. Thirty days notice is required for all cancellations, which cannot be processed until your minimum membership term of four, or twelve months is complete. You will be issued with a cancellation reference number by Member Services and it is your responsibility to retain this number as proof of cancellation

3.       Suspension of your membership can be requested by phoning the Glasgow Club Member Services team on 08000 270 470. Thirty days notice is required and suspension is granted at the Member Services Team's discretion for a period of 2 to 12 months. The reason for suspension must be specified. A date for payments to resume must be agreed and written confirmation of this will be sent to you. The minimum number of monthly payments (4 or 12 as indicated on your membership agreement) must still be made.

4.       Culture & Sport Glasgow will apply to your nominated bank account for Direct Debit payments on the 7th of each month (or the first working day after the 7th).

5.       Membership Fees are non-refundable and Culture & Sport Glasgow reserves the right to review membership fees annually and payments may be increased accordingly. The paying member will be given a minimum of 14 days notice of any proposed increase and will have the right to cancel the membership using the standard cancellation procedure, failing which the customer will be deemed to have accepted the increase.

6.       Amendments to your membership including changes to personal or bank details (which you must advise us of as early as possible) or changes to subscription type are dealt with at centre reception and thirty days notice is required.

7.       All members must complete Fitness Inductions (for their own health and safety) before using the gym and provide proof of this before each use (by presenting your membership card). The cost of an induction is inclusive in Fitness Unlimited membership. The price of an induction includes a 1-year Pay As You Go membership. Members who have completed an induction at one centre can use the gym at any Glasgow Club centre.

8.      The manager reserves the right to refuse any membership application.

9.      Bookings can only be accepted if a valid membership card is produced, or in the case of telephone bookings if the number is quoted. Online bookings require registration on our website and agreement to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Online Booking and our Fair Use Policy.

10.    Booking Cancellations - Customers may be liable for the full cost of the activity if sufficient notice of cancellation is not given (24 hours in the case of team-activity, football or sports-hall bookings).

11.    Booking and activity times include the time required to prepare, erect and dismantle any equipment required.

12.    Membership Cards - must be produced at reception by all members, every time they use the facilities. Lost cards must be reported to reception and a charge for a replacement will be made at the appropriate rate. Membership cards are strictly non-transferable.

13.    Deposits - membership cards may be used as a deposit for equipment or locker key. The card will be forfeited if the hired item is damaged beyond reasonable repair or not returned.

14.    Group/Team Activities - Passport Pay As You Go rates are available for team/group activities (e.g. football, basketball, doubles tennis) where at least 50% of the participants have a Passport rate membership on payment. For all other situations with mixed groups, the appropriate higher charge will apply e.g. if 1 adult and 1 juvenile play, the adult rate applies.

15.    Adult/Juvenile Classification & Conditions

  • Adults are all people aged 18 and over.
  • Juveniles are 5 - 17 yr olds and pay juvenile rate for most activities
  • Under 5's swim free but there is a charge for other activities
  • Health Suites are only available to customers aged 16 and over
  • Fitness Suites are only available to customers aged 14 and over who have completed an induction.
  • Most fitness classes are available to customers aged 14 and over, however there are some exceptions. Please ask centre staff if you for more details.
  • An adult must accompany children aged under 8 age, when attending a coached or supervised session (in which case the parent/guardian must remain in the building).  

16.    Discounts - where the cost of an activity or session is already discounted, no further discount will apply. No additional discount will apply to: Regular Lets, Special Events, Courses, GP Referral or Passport Rate. Proof of entitlement to membership discounts must be provided annually.

17.    Off-peak prices - are available for synthetic pitches only and are available Monday to Friday before 4pm. Peak prices apply at all other times.

18.    Pay-as-you-go membership - is valid for 1-year from the date of purchase but can be renewed at a reduced charge.

19.    All members must adhere to the swimming pool admissions policy. Please ask at reception for more details.

20.    Pay As You Go 'family' category is classified as up to two adults and up to four children under the age of 18.

21.    Culture and Sport Glasgow does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injuries to persons participating in any activity in or on the facilities.

22.    Culture and Sport Glasgow reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of membership at any time.
