The Centre provides support and guidance to every community council in Glasgow, and is required to monitor community council activity in order to ensure that existing community councils are effective.
The main duties of the Community Councils Resource Centre (CCRC) include:
· encouraging the development of community councils in Glasgow
· promoting the work of community councils to the
general public
· ensuring that community councils are
democratically accountable to the local
community
· providing financial assistance to all community
councils through the administration grant budget
· organising an annual seminar for Glasgow
Community Councils
· organising various training courses for community
council members on a regular basis
· advising community councils on difficult issues
· offering technical and administrative support in
instance where this is necessary
