Community Planning
The Local Government in Scotland Act (2003) provides a statutory framework for the Community Planning process and places a duty on Local Authorities to initiate, maintain and facilitate the Community Planning process.
Community Planning is described,
‘The structure, processes and behaviours necessary to ensure that organisations work together and with communities to improve the quality of peoples' lives, through more effective, joined-up and appropriate delivery of services’.
The membership of the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership includes:
The Council and its Community Planning Partners has agreed to establish a company called Glasgow Community Planning Ltd which will mainly be responsible for,
- managing the incorporated body on behalf of the Partnership including the central management of finance, monitoring, Human Resources, Information technology and Marketing activity;
- servicing the Partnership Board, its Executive Group and various Working Groups; and
- supporting city-wide service providers to work together to provide better public services.
- Local Community Planning Partnership Areas.
The Council and its Community Planning partners have agreed the boundaries it wishes to deliver its services within. The ten areas are:
- Drumchapel/Anniesland
- Partick West/Hillhead/Anderson/City Centre
- Springburn/part Glasgow North East
- Maryhill/Kelvin/Canal
- East Centre/Calton
- Part Glasgow North East/Baillieston
- Greater Pollok/Newlands/Auldburn
- Govan/Craigton
- Linn/Langside
- Pollokshields East/Southside Central
