Community Services works with other partners to develop and promote community based initiatives aimed at preventing drug and alcohol misuse and its local consequences.
Key Objectives:

improving awareness of the causes and impact of drug and alcohol use

developing local solutions to drug and alcohol problems

enhancing the capacity of communities to resist and address drug and alcohol related crime and anti-social behaviour

promoting initiatives which prevent the uptake and inappropriate use of drugs and alcohol, particularly by young people

developing better links between funding programmes to support community based responses to drug and alcohol problems
