Economic Inclusion

The Economic Inclusion Team is responsible for the development, management and monitoring of the Council’s Social Inclusion Budget.  It also provides the financial administration of the Scottish Government’s Fairer Scotland Fund for Glasgow’s Community Planning Partnership,(insert web link here) which supports a range of projects across the Community Planning areas, thereby contributing to the government’s Social Justice aims.

These projects address the key priorities of financial inclusion, families and young people, community services, community safety, equalities and addressing worklessness.

Within the Economic Inclusion Team is the Financial Inclusion Team.  Following on from a Review of Advice and Information Service, the Financial Inclusion Team is involved in supporting the delivery of money and legal advice and information services.  The team are also responsible for managing the implementation of the Financial Inclusion Strategy, which was approved by the Council’s Executive Committee in June 2007, to ensure that activity is closely linked to the Council’s wider regeneration role.

The Financial Inclusion Team is also responsible for the BME project which was established to ensure BME community issues are incorporated into Financial Inclusion and Housing Advice as a whole across the city.  The project is also tasked with improving access to money and legal advice and information services for individuals from minority ethnic communities in the city.
